Cashmere

Cashmere sustainable slowfashion fashionistas

Exceptional softness. Timeless luxury.

Cashmere is treasured for its exceptional softness, lightness and warmth. A refined natural fibre, it brings a feeling of understated luxury to garments designed to be enjoyed for years.

But the beauty of cashmere comes with responsibility.

The story behind the fibre

Cashmere comes from the fine undercoat of cashmere goats, traditionally raised in regions of Asia, including Nepal, Mongolia and Kashmir.

As demand for increasingly inexpensive cashmere has grown, concerns have emerged about overgrazing, land degradation and animal welfare in some producing regions.

At SENSIFY, we believe that knowing where our materials come from matters.

A more considered choice

We source the cashmere used in our collection from a factory in Nepal that works with small-scale farmers in Nepal and the historic Kashmir region.

The factory also provides employment for local women, supporting their livelihoods and families.

We recognise that responsible sourcing requires more than choosing a beautiful fibre. Animal welfare, land management, working conditions and processing methods all matter.

Made to be treasured

Cashmere is delicate, yet with appropriate care it can remain a cherished part of your wardrobe for many years.

Over time, the fibres may develop an even softer, fluffier feel. Gentle handling and proper storage help preserve the garment's appearance and shape.

Caring for your cashmere

Always follow the care instructions on your garment's label. Depending on its construction, gentle hand-washing or professional cleaning may be appropriate.

Avoid rubbing, twisting or wringing the garment. If hand-washing is permitted, use cold water and a suitable wool detergent, gently press out excess water with a towel, reshape and dry flat.

Store your cashmere clean and dry, folded rather than hung, to help maintain its shape.

At SENSIFY, we believe true luxury is not simply about how a garment feels. It is also about understanding its origins, caring for what we own and choosing pieces worth keeping.
